MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

 

What is a "professional artist"? 


CADA-ON recognizes a professional artist as someone who fulfills one or more of the following criteria: 

  • has specialized training in the dance field (not necessarily in academic institutions)
  • is recognized as such by peers (artists working in the same artistic tradition) 
  • has a history of public presentation or publication 
  • spends a significant amount of time practicing their art, and seeks payment for their work

What is an "emerging artist"? 


CADA-ON recognizes an emerging artist as someone who fulfills one or more of the following criteria, and who also identifies as being the earlier stages of their career: 

  • has specialized training in the dance field (not necessarily in academic institutions)
  • is recognized as such by peers (artists working in the same artistic tradition) 
  • has a history of public presentation or publication 
  • spends a significant amount of time practicing their art, and seeks payment for their work

*emerging artist to be discontinued for the 2017/2018 year*


All CADA-ON members must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or are legally allowed to work in Canada. 


When applying for a CADA-ON membership, a recent bio or resume describing your latest dance projects and/or training is needed for approval.
